I had to change the title from shows that I watch and books that I read because I plan to blog about everything that I watch and everything that I read. This blog is about my thoughts concerning the material that I allow to come into my mind and how little or big affect it has on me

Miss Universe 2010
Hey Yall.. I know I am late with this topic but I had been meaning to write about Miss Philippines Venus Raj answer to a question that could have cost her the crown. The question asked; What was the one big mistake that you did in your life? And what did you do to make it right? Her answer; In my 22 years of existence there is nothing major major problem I've done because I'm confident in myself and my family. My thoughts OK that was a poor answer and its obvious that she should have answered the question in her native tongue. To all those individuals who thought her answer was good you are wrong as well. This is Miss Universe not a Tween Pageant were this answer would have probably sufficed. First off if you never made a big mistake in your life MAKE UP SOMETHING, make it sound believable and good. Second off answer the question better than there is nothing major that I have done, what you should have said was, I was raised with strong morals and values and have a strong since of pride in my upbringing so I would never cause shame to my family or friends. If I made a mistake I did learn from it whether it was not studying for a test or telling a little white lie.. something on the lines of this. Finally, this question was not about what other people perceived what a "big" mistake was, it could have been as simple as spoiling your dog by overfeeding it or running red lights at night because no one was around, its not about how big the mistake was but how you learned and grew from it. You feel me??

Behind the Music: Fantasia Barrino
Did you catch the episode featuring Fantasia on Behind the Music? The story was very uplifting, I always liked Fantasia and I wish her much success. The story chronicles her life up to the recent drug overdose. She states how all through her life she had bad experiences with men, her baby father beat her, her dad sued her, and her latest boyfriend was still married to his wife and was named as a source for causing the breakup of their marriage. My thoughts .. We cant choose how we are brought into this world, but we can learn forgiveness and I would be very upset if my father ever sued me. In regards to the men we allow to come into our lives this is a lesson for all female we all need to be highly selective of who we lay down with. Not saying that this is a fool proof plan, because recently on the TO show TO's friend was celibate for 8 months to only give it up to a man she was dating who was MARRIED!! TO's friend didn't try to kill herself she dropped his behind to the curb. Fantasia you have a beautiful voice, a real gift and a beautiful girl don't let it get to you. Ladies no man or drama is worth your life.

Hoarders
I loathe Hoarders, even though I can't relate. It's so addicting to watch how these people live, unable to use the bathroom or cook food because of the amount of things they have collected and have no place to put them. From watching the show I really believe hoarding is a mental condition and these people need serious help. Some of the individuals have been hoarding so long that family members have not seen nor been in there houses for years. The things these people collect are outrageous. My thoughts... OK so I know hoarding is a disease but when people hoard ANIMALS and TRASH, I think you are just ridiculous. This one lady had over 60 dogs and cats living in a trailer. She seemed to rotate the dogs in and out of their cages. When they were let out they defecated all over the trailer and she was constantly picking up the mess but it was always there. She even put down paper as if that was going to help in the process of cleaning up when you have 60 dogs going everywhere. Family members came over the house and the stench was unbearable people had to leave, and to think someone was actually living there. The only up side to this story in my opinion was that these animals had a place to stay and she appeared to love all of them. This other family had mounds and mounds of trash everywhere in their house it was so trife, I was about to throw up. They ate out everyday and would leave the leftover drinks and McDonald's bags all over the house. There were bugs everywhere, even in the refrigerator. How could anyone not clean up trash? It takes two seconds to throw something away. And to top it all off she spent 2500$ on a PLASTIC HORSE and didn't pay for a cleanup service how crazy is that. I don't have any sympathy for these people. If one of my immediate family members lived like that I would get them evicted, strongly suggest they see a psychiatrist and then clean that filthy house.

Salon Charges Customer Extra Five Dollars Because She's Fat
A nail salon in Georgia, charged Michelle Fonville, 40, an additional FIVE dollars because she is overweight. The salon, NATURAL NAILS in Lithonia GA ( I had to put there name out there) charged her an extra 5 dollars because there chair according to the manufacturer has a 200lb weight limit and cost 2500$ to repair. My thoughts... Sad but true this is probably not the first or the last time this will happen at that nail salon. The charge of five dollars in my opinion is ridiculous because if you had any doubt that I was going to break your chair why would you charge me 5 dollars why not just tell me to leave or better yet charge me the 2500$ it cost to replace the chair if I broke it, don't try to insult my intelligence by charging me a five dollar fine for being overweight. I think the owners of this salon thought that were going to get away with it, Michelle asked for a receipt then questioned the mysterious charge and that's how she found out. I would have cussed them out for saying I was too big but then willing to take my money. Money has no size. Natural Nails told Michelle that she was not allowed to come back because she was too big; there are plenty of other nail salons Michelle that would be glad to take your money no matter what size or shape. Michelle said she was going to protest the store, now I personally would not go that far, just tell family and friends what happened and people will listen, hey it got to ABC news so someone thought it was worth noting. Honestly this is a real sticky situation because if I was the owner of the nail salon and I thought that someone was going to break my chair I would have explained to Michelle that we could not give her a pedicure for the risk of damaging our chairs but we can use one of our less expensive chairs to do her feet. If Michelle popped off and got upset than so be it, but at least I explained from the beginning and I didn't charge a mysterious FIVE DOLLAR FEE.
Bridezillas: Stephanie and Alex
I absolutely Love Bridezillas, there will be numerous posts about Bridezillas especially if I see something that is ridiculous or extremely entertaining. OK so on the new episode Stephanie got married and Alex was introduced. First off I know Stephanie is in a sorority; which one I don't know. First, I thought she was Delta because she had a red car and the show kept referencing hers to being a Diva, then when she said her colors were blue and white I was like she must be a Zeta. Either way I am very curious. Deboris and Stephanie looked like a great couple and I wish them much success and happiness. On too Alex, I don't know where Alex is from to be exact I believe Ohio and she and her fiance looked like bff, but she treats her family and friends like crap. 1. She took away her soon to be stepmother-in-law boutonniere away without even consulting her fiance first, in order to add extra flowers to the couples table 2. Told the people at the wedding venue if her BLOOD sister tries to get in her wedding to ask her sister to leave 3. Tried to smack her mother, and cursed her out when she was unable to accomplish the smack down. My thought, is Bridezilla fame really worth your humiliation in front of the entire nation? Do you want your co-workers or even worse your in-laws to see how you behave when they probably didn't even meet you yet? No self respecting person would behave in this manner for 3,000$ dollars and pictures and videos of your wedding it's just not right. Do you think you're going to be a star from Bridezilla? I think not, reality TV show people like Jersey Shore (I can't wait to blog about them), Bad Girls, Ochocinco, this people act a mess but they actually get compensated better than Bridezillas. So if you want to act a fool at least go on one of these less than classy..Trashy, but we all love to watch shows. At least people will expect you to act out.

Night
At first I was not sure if I should write about Night, but it is an EXCELLENT read and is a part of Oprah's Book Club. Night by Eliezer Wiesel is about his experiences living in the Nazi German concentration camps at Auschwitz and Buchenwald in 1944-1945. I will not write anymore about the story because I think everyone should read the story, I cried throughout the book but I am very emotional. Believe it or not Elie tells the reader that at one point no one wanted to publish his book and it took years for people to actually start reading it and its GREAT. My thoughts; I related this book to reading/watching Roots. No one will ever know the hardships a group of oppressed people experienced but we can attempt to educate ourselves by reading someones first accounts of the events..(does that make sense). Its a shame how in today's educational systems we don't read more about native American, slavery and the Holocaust. ESPECIALLY Native Americans and Slavery because that deals directly with America. What I like about Eli is that he continues to speak about the Holocaust even to the ignorant people who think it never even happened (Yes they exist). He has so much pride and he is not ashamed. I too have a lot of pride in my culture and I wish more black people took more pride in themselves as well. To know where my people came from and to even look at my grandparents I just want to continue to make them proud.

Were Ready for More
Even if you don't watch the show Nighteen Kids & Counting or is it Twenty Kids and Counting I am pretty sure you know who Michelle & Jim Bob (MJB) Duggar are, or do you?? They have at least nighteen kids I am pretty sure of that. The show gives viewer's a view of how it feels to raise all of their kids, which BTW Michelle has all given birth too. This blog is not about the show, but about the article Were Ready for More in Peoples Magazine. The article talks mainly about the new arrival of Josie Duggar who was born prematurely and stayed in the hospital for a considerable amount of time. The article also goes into detail about MJB feelings on having some many children and the public reaction to their lives. MJB state how they believe all children are a blessing and if Gods wants them to have more children they will continue to have them and they do not care what anyone thinks accept GOD. AGREED. Also MD commented on how some of the remarks made by the public actually hurt her feelings because she knows some of the comments are true; especially ones on how there is not enough hours in the day to spend with ALL the children and how the older ones have no life because they are raising all the younger ones. My thoughts, MJB Duggar are a strong Christian family and if they want to continue to have kids so be it. As far as MJB not having enough time to spend with there little ones if I was # 10 let alone # 17 I would be happy just BEING BORN, because my mother and most mothers would have stopped a long time ago. Finally, MJB if the public makes remarks about your life and they hurt your feelings because they are true, that is the sacrifice that you made when you went public with your entire life. Your family is getting paid to endure these types of hardships, if you want to go crawl behind a rock than don't put your business out on front street because now you cant. My parents taught me if I don't have anything nice to say then don't say it all, and if you have to be honest and it might hurt someones feelings at least try to say things nicely. MJB most people in America are not like that so suck it up, when your in the lime light you have to have tough skin. So if its too hot than get out the kitchen or in your circumstance tell the cameras to go somewhere else.
